Hallo,

I can only reenforce most of what Benjamin wrote originally.
I'm sure you've seen the competition here in Europe (AirNavPro, SkyDemon, etc) so you definitely need to catch up with some of their basic functions like:
I know it's a long list but these things really are basic for an iPad nav system in this day and age. Otherwise the product is good. Do you have any time scale when the improvements are coming? My free trial expires soon and I can't in good conscience invest in a product which is so far behind the competition. Thanks and good luck!
David
Dear Markus Marth,
Mobile Flight Deck VFR proved to be a very dependable flight-planning- and NAV-software when I took it along for a series of nice flights with my Savage Cruiser, D-MIWA , last month. My travels covered all sorts of european VFR flight operation, from tiny grass-strips to complex airspaces and ATC-controlled airports, but also to mountainous airfields in Austria. Being accustomed to the ICAO-chart-layout I needed little time to get familiar with Jeppesen‘s one. The adherence even to tricky traffic-patterns is like a walk in the park. Flying the Alps is a pleasure: confirming the precise map-contuor-layers with the real scenery underneath . But also the hardware, an iPad2 in my case, deserves compliments. Even in peak temperatures (35°C OAT) it never failed. Display brightness is not too glaring, but sufficient.
Nevertheless for some questions:
How are the track-arrows - the black and the yellow one - defined?
How can I insert various winds for single route-legs?
How can I get instant access to DIST and ETO for the next WPT?
And, we have been talking about before,
how about the option to create and store custom waypoints?
I‘m looking forward to see you again soon, probably at „Tannkosh“ in August?
Best regards,
Markus Koch
Hello Mr. Detroyat,
thanks for the additional information you provided on the phone. Regarding the support of external Bluetooth GPS devices with "Mobile FliteDeck VFR", we have to inform you that (as of now !), we cannot support this functionality. However, It looks like that the issue is not related to the app itself, but more related to the the external device in combination with the current IOS version on the iPad, and the used GPS protocol. We found some general threads where exactly this issue is described, especially with newer IOS versions.
We will go into further detail and testing on this issue, and as soon as we have more results with different devices, we will post it here.
Until further notice, we can support 3G iPads (having a "built in" GPS receiver) only.
For the Mobile FliteDeck VFR team,
Markus

Hello Mr. Koch,
thank you for your great feedback !
Here are some answers to your questions:
- the black track line represents a 5 min vector of your current track.
- the yellow one points either to the destination, or to the next waypoint on your route. This is depending on what you have selected by tapping on the lower left corner in Flying Mode. (By tapping on this area, you select the provided information like ETE, ETA and DIST also either based on the destination, or on the next waypoint.)
- the option to create and store custom waypoints in on our list for further improvements.
Hope that helps, and YES (last but not least...) we are looking forward to see you at our Jeppesen booth in Tannkosh !
On behalf of the "Mobile FliteDeck VFR" team,
Markus
