Hi Reggie, and thanks for the message. First, I love the app. It performs very well on my iPad mini retina. I have two questions for you. First, is there a way to display range or scale? For instance, when at various zooms I have no idea how far away a feature or obstruction is from me. Second, is there a way to enter a user fix, such as an unpublished airstrip?
Thanks,
Paul R (Randy)Owen

Hi Reggie,
I was born before computers, so I got a chuckle out of the fact that others loaded the app and there was no map, and no search results.
I did find the download key, though, and I had the sense to download the USA database.
It was excruciatingly slow, my AT&T connection always stops during download, so I had to stay up all night hitting the resume key.

Finally, I got to 100% loaded, and it said "extracting" which took too long, timing out my iPad mini, my description of the app closing by itself.

However, I tried the app in the morning, and this time it had data, allowing me to plan a flight, and use the "go flying" button.

I liked the help button where the screen pointed out what the buttons do, and I liked the "nrst" button for a drop down list of nearest airports.

Also, I really appreciated the aircraft profile section, where I could really trim my aircraft performance to match my real world experience.

Everything worked really well.

It's more user friendly than the Garmin app.

I think that better, easier downloading , will be needed for it to market well, though. That probably means more servers in the network, and AT&T, being more generous with data throughput.

I appreciate your pricing (no more than Garmin's). I think Fly Q will fail due to their high price and lack of options. Garmin has plenty of price options which is good. Garmin is difficult to master at first, but it becomes clearer with experience.

I like that you have MPH as an option, Garmin only has Knots.

Thanks for a very nice app.

Reggie - I'm not having problems with the download (other than sometimes it takes four hours to download the data-base, and this over a 35mbps connection, other times it has taken five minutes).  My problem is running the app, it keeps crashing whenever I try to pan or zoom.  Tech support has a (very) lengthy report on the issue which has been escalated to the engineers, but I have not heard from them.  Right now I'm out $49 with an app that will not function on IOS7, the trial worked on IOS6 just fine, so I know the problem is yours, not the Apple Mini - I have tried to make it work on two different iPads with the same results.

Thanks.  It's done now and everything seems to work OK.  I'll have to open it up next time I go flying

the download is progressing, but slowly.  As far as percent complete I get something that says nan%.  No idea what it means.

So far I've been pretty frustrated with the app.  I downloaded 1.1.3 and when I went to upgrade to 1.1.4 I forgot to deactivate the old version. So I had to re-install the whole darn thing (including the 1.2 gigabyte map).  This morning Jepp's server has been very balky and I've had to re-start the download many times-- and I'm still not done.

All I can say is that Foreflight doesn't seem to have these problems.

Hi Reggie no worries. The flight was fine and I am trying to post a photo of it. I would appreciate the WAC to Brazil and Sout Am, specially if they also could be used in Garmin Aera 795. It would be a very useful for all who fly in our region.

Regards Reggie and a nice week ahead!

Reggie;  OK - what do I do now.  I downloaded the Mobile FD VFR APP, it tells me that it is active but nothing works.  I see the term Sitekey but have no idea what that is for.  I have a serial number but no place to put it.  I have a blank screen with a little airplane in the middle but no map.  When I enter a DEP on the DEP page, nothing happens, no response.  What gives?  I have downloaded many APPS to my mini-ipad, just download and open and your off to the races. It seems like I need an act of Congress (GOD forbid) to get this one up and running.  HELP!!!
