Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck VFR – 2014 additional Enhancements

NEW in Version 1.4 (released in April)

  • Coverage extension

In April Italy will be added to the existing selection of countries.

  • VFR enroute data

As we continue to build out the Mobile FliteDeck VFR coverages, by April these countries will have VFR enroute data:

  • Ireland
  • Denmark
  • Poland
  • Czech Republic
  • Slovenia
  • Croatia
  • Spain
  • Portugal

Customers subscribing to All Available Countries (Europe) will get the VFR enroute data at no extra charge. This includes topographical data, terrain, obstacles, airspace, communications, NAVAIDs, VFR waypoints and primary airport information such as elevation, runway length, and main frequencies, etc. METARs, TAFs and NOTAMs are also available. NAVAIDs and airports can be implemented into your routes to be part of your NavLog calculation.

The countries listed above will have VFR airport data added in coming releases.

  • Graphical NOTAMs/TFRs

Get critical and relevant NOTAMs/TFRs at-a-glance on our seamless maps, and you can manage NOTAMs/TFRs by choosing between All, Pinned or No.

NEW in Version 2.0 (to be released in May)

  • Graphical weather

One of the major enhancements will be our graphical weather feature, which is integrated with the dynamically rendered charts.

How does it look?

Three zoom layers provide you weather information based on a five-color system (red, yellow, orange, green and transparent) and/or symbolic details.

Layer 1 – general weather synopsis

This top layer serves as weather familiarization, and is therefore perfect for initial route planning. The color codes inform you about ceilings, visibilities, wind speeds/gusts, significant weather and icing conditions. You can quickly make a go or no-go decision with the synopsis data.

Layer 2 – detailed route weather

This layer is also color-coded but includes symbolic details such as lightning symbols, etc., for additional accuracy and further decision making.

Layer 3 – approach and departure weather planning

This layer is similar to layer 2 (symbolic details and color codes), but is used for a more thorough approach and departure analysis.

As a pilot you will have the option to circumnavigate critical weather phenomena at any time based on our forecast and the separate wind overlay.

NEW in version 3.0 (to be released in August)

  • Stay tuned, we have many exciting enhancements and additional coverage areas coming soon!
