MossY shows you how your workflow needs to change when using Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck VFR.
Dear Ahmad, thanks a lot for your reply. That is great!!Thanks for the constant improvements.I'm looking forward.
Thank you very much for your feedback!
The functionality to automatically log the flights is the next “add” on our agenda. So you can expect this quite soon after the weather release 2.0., which is almost out the door. This next release will then also include an export function and therefore an option to print your pilot logs after all.
One of the modifications of the coming release 2.0 is the slightly changed interface in live mode, which now includes bearings and distances to ANY waypoints by just tapping on the Station/Airport/Navaid etc., based on your real time position. So you will be able to provide ATC accurate information with regards to position as desired.
Unfortunately the search after cities names will be quite difficult, as they are not part of our navigational database. However, we have now included IFR fixes with 2.0. IFR fixes can be searched for, and can also be used as waypoints for your routes. Last but not least, the capability to name and save “user defined waypoints” is on the agenda for a future release as well.
Thanks again for your valued feedback, and please let us know if you have any further questions or suggestions.
For the Mobile FliteDeck VFR team,
I will have to buy soon the FLiteDeck VFR as a replacement of all my paper charts that will expire soon.
I think the product is great but still has some "disappointing" gaps.
As an example I find it quite annoying that there is no possibility (or at least I did not manage it) to give a proper name to user defined waypoints... I even do not know how to save waypoints to use them in different flight plans.
Also, it is quite annoying that all the place names (e.g. towns and villages) cannot be used automatically as waypoints, nor are they searchable.
Do you have any advice on these points?
Additional very appealing features for future releases (see e.g. the program skydemon)
-possibility to print the pilot log
-during navigation, real time localization information as e.g. (4 nm NW of WP1)
Thanks a lot for all your work
